I hope you have a few minutes for this video today.
It's a great reminder of the value in a "thank you." Your words are powerful - let them be a blessing to someone who needs it.
Today, I went to Walmart. I was very busy and almost passed him by without thinking and then I saw him. He shuffled passed me with his head down, and I noticed his cap was emblazoned with the words "Vietnam Vet." I stopped, walked up to him, looked him in the eye, and shook his hand while saying, "Thank you for your service."
Just before I ran through those double doors I looked behind me and you'll never guess what I noticed. This man had some how changed. He was walking with confidence, looking tall, and there was a big smile on his face.
I don't know his name, but I know he and many Vietnam Vets returned with "baby killer" ringing in their ears. I promised myself never to let a vet pass me by without a thank you.
My small words of gratitude meant that much to him.
So here I am giving you a "thank you for your support." We will not ever forget that the Solivita Book Circle would not be what it is today without you.
