Do you like to cook, read cookbooks, talk about food and share food with others? If this is you then you might be interested in a newly forming book chapter called Food 4 Thought.
Participants don't need to be a chef to belong. It's a perfect opportunity for novices to challenge themselves and learn from more experienced cooks, and for more experienced cooks to share their skills.
This is not your ordinary book club! Variety is the spice of life...so the meetings will be varied ranging from regular cookbooks (think Paula Deen, Pioneer Woman) seasonal cookbooks, specialty cookbooks (ethnic-related, cupcakes, desserts, grilling, vegetarian, crock pot, etc., food-focused fiction (think Diane Mott, Sandra Balzo) viewing a food-related movie (think Julie and Julia or 100 Yard Journey), pairing a film with a related dish, invited guests (local chef/grillmaster, cookbook author, butcher, cheesemaker, gardner, etc.), show and tell with kitchen gadgets, and maybe even a Christmas cookie exchange. We will be limited only by our imagination!
Meeting locations will be rotated among the members with the host/hostess providing a dish that piqued their interest from the selected cookbook/book. The first meeting will be an informational/organizational meeting with participants bringing books/meeting ideas to be considered for future meetings.
During this meeting, the group will choose which books to read or meeting ideas for the rest of the year and the location(s) for future meetings.
