The reveal of America’s 100 best-loved novels will occur in conjunction with the two-hour special event of the Great American Read, PBS, on Tuesday, May 22d. The program journeys across America to uncover illuminating details about the novels and stories behind the story. They interview authors and learn fascinating ways writers create the imaginary worlds.
The program kicks off a summer of reading and voting. You can read books on the list and participate in a first-ever national vote for America’s favorite book. In the fall, the series continues exploring the nominated books. The final episode will be a dramatic countdown to America’s Best-Loved Book.
During the eight-part series we will be introduced to key authors and celebrities including John Irving, George R.R. Martin, Margaret Atwood, Lesley Stahl and Junot Diaz.
