Oh how quickly times have changed. Today, we present Book Chapters, pre and post Coronavirus. First, let’s look at how one chapter met using a cookbook as a theme.
The Food For Thought Chapter - Best Table Display
For her February read, Member Christine Pelka chose The Official Downton Abbey Cookbook by Annie Gray and entertained eleven Club members at an elaborate tea complete with champagne, scones, clotted cream, finger sandwiches, pastries and English tea.
Chris also presented a detailed story of her English ancestry displaying various antique artifacts. Costuming was at its finest as each lady dressed representing various characters in the PBS series.
Many thanks to Rita Lambert for allowing us to share in the special event by writing up the details and sharing this photo of Food For Thought.
This has forced our Chapters to become creative in their efforts to continue with meetings and to enjoy their love of a good book discussion. Many chapters are now using video chats to hold their monthly meetings.
It's Gone Virtual
Many articles are available explaining how to create virtual book clubs or chapters. This one, from Country Living magazine has many interesting ideas and hints for holding successful virtual meetings.
What? We're Going to be on Facebook?
Stay tuned as we make our way into that technology arena! When the page is ready, we’ll send out an email blast.
Unprecendented times call for unprecendented connections.
hese times are difficult, but also afford us the opportunity to slow down, be in the moment, and remember what a beautiful place we call home.
